Kathryn Drager, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is a Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at The Pennsylvania State University. Her research centers on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), with a particular emphasis on supporting young children, beginning communicators, and children with autism as they develop foundational communication skills. Dr. Drager’s work integrates developmental theory, evidence-based intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and includes efforts to expand AAC access and culturally responsive intervention in low- and middle-income countries. Her research aims to advance AAC design and implementation to foster meaningful and equitable participation in diverse, real-world contexts.
