Glenda Watson Hyatt

Glenda Watson Hyatt is a master’s student at Queen’s University, where her thesis research focuses on recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees with speech disabilities in Canada. Drawing on her lived experience with cerebral palsy and her expertise in communication access, her research is informed by deep personal insight as well as rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis. Her study is supported through a partnership with the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW).

Glenda is an established communication access advocate, author, and keynote speaker, known for advancing awareness about speech disabilities and pushing for systemic change in accessibility and employment. She works to ensure that individuals who have speech disabilities and who use AAC are recognized, respected, and included. Her contributions continue to shape both research and practice, helping to amplify voices that have too often been excluded from policy and employment conversations.
