Jamie Gibbs
Since earning her masters degree from George Mason University, Jamie Gibbs has been enthusiastic and passionate about helping others with disabilities find the best assistive technology that enables them to lead independent lives. She has always been able to communicate verbally, but she uses AAC to help the unfamiliar listener understand what she is communicating.
Jamie has been a member of the USSAAC AAC Awareness committee for just over a year now. Her other ventures in the disability field include being Vice Chair of the Fairfax Area Disability Services Board and being a member of the United Church of Christ Disability Ministry.
Outside of her disability advocacy, Jamie earned her bachelor’s degree in photography from Longwood University before receiving training in web design, data analytics, and cybersecurity. Some of Jamie’s hobbies include watching baseball, going on bike rides, riding horses, and playing piano.
