Joseph Scheuhammer

Joseph Scheuhammer, Senior Inclusive Developer, Inclusive Design Research
Centre (IDRC) at OCAD University, has a Ph.D. in Brain and Cognitive
Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1988), and an M.A.
in Psychology (1979) and a B.A. (Hon) in Philosophy and Psychology (1978)
from the University of Western Ontario. He has worked with the W3C, IMS,

and ASC standards bodies to develop standards for Web accessibility and
standards for accessible and equitable AI. He was the technical lead for the
Web-4-All project, the Dynamic Appearance Model for SCORM, and the
Audio Look and Feel for the Java Swing GUI toolkit. He contributed to the
Fluid project, the dojo toolkit, and a screen magnifier for the GNOME
desktop. He is currently working on the Baby Bliss Bot project, focusing on an
adaptive palette and LLMs as a communication aid for non speaking
individuals.
