Melanie Fried-Oken

Oregon Health & Science University, USA

Dr. Fried-Oken has been an AAC researcher for the past 40+ years. As a speech-language pathologist and rehabilitation scientist, she has led research teams to develop, evaluate and implement AAC tools and strategies for adults with neurodegenerative diseases and children with developmental disabilities. All research questions comes from clinical experiences where our field could not find adequate solutions for people who need or use AAC. She is an ISAAC and ASHA fellow, and frequently presents at ISAAC conferences.
