Sharon Rogers

Sharon Rogers is employed as an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) specialist in private practice since retiring from teaching the graduate AAC course at California State University, Fullerton. For her Ph.D. dissertation, she observed in the homes of seven children with complex communication profiles to interpret multimodal communication across four cultures. Parents, communication partners, educators, nurses, and SLP’s whose accurate and sensitive interpretation of the children’s communication contributed to her assessment tool Hearing Them into Voice (Mayne & Rogers, 2020). Her most recent passion is contributing to the Communication Abilities Profiles for Employees and Employers with Dr. Lesley Mayne. She is a member of USSAAC and ISAAC organizations whose webinars and conferences continue to provide resources. Gratefully she and Dr. Lesley Mayne have learned, presented, and collaborated over thirty years across the United States in person and via zoom.
