Abstract

Every phase of the AAC life span boasts its own challenges and opportunities. This session, moderated by USSAAC President-Elect Patrick Regan, will feature four parents of individuals who use AAC from the emergent level to adulthood.  These presenters will be frank as they share their experiences serving as their child’s parent, educator, advocate, caregiver and advisor.  They will discuss everything from education and healthcare to insurance, employment and care. Parents and professionals will glean important insight into the everyday lives of individuals who use AAC and their families.
