Abstract

This presentation elaborates on the process and philosophy in setting up the ISAAC-Singapore Chapter. Soon after its beginning, Covid-19 struck and we had to adapt, with many activities conducted online.

With the resumption of in-person activities, ISAAC-Singapore has been re-planning our activities to enhance the integration of our AAC Communicators into the community. These include actively engaging community-based stakeholders to co-plan inclusive events with and for AAC Communicators, and hosting AAC knowledge sharing discussion groups. We also build awareness and advocate for AAC in the wider community in Singapore and beyond in collaboration with other ISAAC Chapters.

Today, ISAAC-Singapore is a vibrant community of individuals from many walks of life including Persons who use AAC, Caregivers, Professionals, Vendors, and Researchers. Our commitment is to have AAC Communicators and their families at the heart of all we do, and at the forefront of ISAAC-Singapore’s planning and leadership.
