Gunilla Thunberg
Gunilla Thunberg is employed as a Senior Speech Language Pathologist at DART centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication(AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT). DART, being one of Europe’s most prominent AAC centres, applies a trans-disciplinary and user oriented approach focusing 1) clinical assessment services, 2) educational services, and 3) research and development. Gunilla earned her Doctor’s degree in 2007 writing her thesis about AAC in the home environment. 2017 she was appointed Associate Professor in Speech Language Pathology at University of Gothenburg. Gunilla is an experienced project leader and has initiated many important projects within AAC and communication support focusing different groups of AAC users; from young children with communication challenges to old people with aphasia. Gunilla is extensively involved in the education of Speech language pathologists and Special education teachers at Gothenburg University. She is also engaged as a lecturer at other universities and services, both in Sweden and abroad.
