This interactive panel brings together leading experts in AAC, assistive technology, voice synthesis, symbol development, language support, and alternative access to
explore key pillars of AI in AAC. Panelists will share real-world applications, emerging innovations, and practical insights into how AI can support more effective,
personalized communication experiences.
Beyond the technology itself, the discussion will focus on the ethical and regulatory questions that accompany these advances. Drawing on lived experience, clinical perspectives, industry expertise, and emerging guiding-principles frameworks, the panel will examine how the AAC community can harness the benefits of AI while ensuring control, autonomy, identity, language development, communication choices, and individual developmental trajectories are protected and respected.
